Henrietta Knight - book releaseHenrietta Knight, one of the legends of the racing world, will be talking about her latest book, Not Enough Time, chronicling her marriage to former National Hunt jockey and fellow trainer, the late Terry Biddlecombe.Henrietta , who has lived all her life in Lockinge, has many claims to fame. In her younger days, she was a successful Three Day Event rider finishing 12th at Badminton in 1973 and went on to chair the Horse Trials Selection Committee which chose the Silver Medal Winning Equestrian Team at the Seul Olympics. A former History and Biology teacher, she was a highly successful amateur point to point trainer before becoming a professional race horse trainer in 1989. In middle age, she married twice divorced ex-hell raising former jockey Terry Biddlecombe and together they trained the brilliant race horse, Best Mate, winner of 3 consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cups. Tragedy struck when the horse unexpectedly collapsed and died in 2005 at Exeter racecourse. Some years later, Terry’s health deteriorated and Henrietta retired from training in 2012 to care for him. He died in January 2014.This is a story of a great love, of triumph and tragedy. Henrietta discusses her new book with novelist , Eliza Graham.
